Ask Angelique

What kinds of real estate matters do you handle?

Both commercial and residential. On the commercial side, that spans acquisitions and dispositions, financing, leasing, and development across property types, office, retail, hotels, mixed-use, vacant land, and residential subdivisions. On the residential side, I represent buyers and sellers in high-end home transactions and provide closing services and title insurance.

Can you help with a transaction outside of Florida?

Yes. I'm admitted in Florida, Georgia, New York, and Washington, D.C., and much of my practice is multijurisdictional. I regularly handle multisite transactions across the United States and have worked on matters in the Caribbean as well. For clients scaling operations across multiple states, that reach is often the point.

Do you serve as outside counsel on an ongoing basis?

I do. I serve as outside real estate counsel for both publicly traded and privately held companies across the country. For companies with recurring real estate needs but no in-house real estate group, that arrangement tends to be more efficient than engaging new counsel for each transaction.

What does the title insurance piece mean for my closing?

I'm a title agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, which means title work and insurance can be handled in-house as part of your transaction rather than coordinated through a separate provider. For most clients, that translates to a cleaner, faster closing with fewer parties to manage.

I'm a real estate agent. How do you work with agents and their clients?

Closely. I partner with many of the region's leading agents on high-end residential transactions, handling the legal and closing work so the agent can focus on the deal and the client. The goal is to be a steady, responsive resource that protects the client's interests without slowing anything down.

You came from large firms. What does that mean for working with you?

It means you get Big Law substance without Big Law distance. I trained at firms like Akerman, Shutts & Bowen, and Arnold & Porter, handling complex financings, large-scale due diligence, and sophisticated transactions. I brought that rigor to Vellum Law but paired it with concierge-level attention.

What kinds of clients do you typically work with?

Commercial buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants, developers and investors, bankers and private lenders, hospitality owners and operators, and national corporations expanding their footprint, including a number of luxury brands. I also work regularly with residential buyers, sellers, and the agents who represent them.
